Lloyd Kramer
Executive Producer and Director

Lloyd Kramer works in both documentaries and scripted television. He first made a mark in New York in the late 1980s with a highly-acclaimed daily feature segment at the NBC station. He also produced and directed documentaries, which won both Emmy and New York Press Club Awards three years in a row.

Lloyd received his first DGA nomination for Best Director/Documentary for No One Dies Alone, a film detailing the effects of a single murder on a large family whose roots run deep, which he produced and directed for Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions. His movies include The Five People You Meet in Heaven, starring Jon Voight, which earned Lloyd a second DGA nomination for Best Director/Television Movies. Lloyd directed several more movies for Harpo Films, including Before Women Had Wings, Amy and Isabelle and, most recently, Mitch Albom’s For One More Day, which aired on ABC and for which he received his third DGA nomination as Best Director. He currently is writing a movie for HBO.

America in Primetime reunites Lloyd and Tom Yellin, who last collaborated on the critically-praised Report From Ground Zero, a two-hour ABC Documentary Special which remains, for many, the comprehensive account of what happened inside the World Trade Center towers following the 9/11 attacks. Told from the point of view of the first responders, the film received the International Association of Firefighters’ Highest Award for Best Documentary or Special on the subject of 9/11.
