Susan has been producing television documentaries in New York City for more than a decade. She has conducted hundreds of on camera interviews and takes great pleasure in getting the best from real people and making true stories come alive.
Currently, Susan is producing a series of films on major innovations in the American aerospace industry over the past century. In 2011, Susan produced two hours of America in Primetime, a four-part series for PBS showcasing the creative minds behind television’s “new golden age” and exploring how this iconic American art form has both reflected and shaped our national character.
Prior to that, Susan worked on China Inside Out: Bob Woodruff Reports for ABC News, reporting from China, Angola, Cambodia and Brazil. The program examined the stunning global transformation taking place at the outset of “The Chinese Century,” and was nominated for a News Documentary Emmy Award.
Susan was the associate producer on the critically acclaimed program To Iraq and Back: Bob Woodruff Reports, which also aired on ABC News and investigated the failure of government to adequately care for soldiers returning from Iraq with traumatic brain injuries. The program won a Peabody Award for excellence in broadcast journalism.
Susan began her career in documentaries at PJ Productions, the company of broadcaster Peter Jennings. She worked on numerous films for the highly acclaimed documentary series Peter Jennings Reporting, including UFOs: Seeing is Believing and the award-winning programs Ecstasy Rising and Beyond Conspiracy: The Kennedy Assassination. Prior to her time with DocGroup and PJ Productions, Susan worked for the ABC News Special Events Unit, which is responsible for coverage of breaking news. Susan graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and lives in Queens, NY with her husband and son.
