VP of Production
Innbo Shim oversees all of Doc Group’s projects and daily operations, from pre-production to post. She works closely with the producing teams to manage the budget, logistics, and relationships with all of our creative partners and vendors.
Prior to joining Doc Group, Innbo has produced both documentary and fiction content for over ten years. Most recently, she co-produced THE NOTORIOUS MR. BOUT (World Cinema Documentary Competition, 2014 Sundance Film Festival) and was the executive producer of the Mongolian narrative feature REMOTE CONTROL (World Premiere, 2013 Busan IFF/New Currents Award; official selection 2014 Rotterdam International Film Festival). At Brooklyn-based Market Road Films, she developed and produced independent projects and television hours for National Geographic Channel.
Previously Innbo worked for Jonathan Demme’s company Clinica Estetico as a co-producer, associate producer, &/or music supervisor on several features, including RACHEL GETTING MARRIED and JIMMY CARTER MAN FROM PLAINS, both released by Sony Pictures Classics. Other documentary credits include two series for PBS, EXPOSÉ: America’s Investigative Reports and RACE – The Power of an Illusion.
