Christina Lowery

Managing Director

Christina Lowery brings broad experience as an independent documentary producer to DocGroup, having produced programs for PBS, ABC, CNN, A&E and The History Channel. Her feature film experience includes work as an archival footage consultant, most recently for Shine a Light, Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones concert film for Paramount Classics and The Good Shepherd directed by Robert DeNiro for Universal Pictures. She has also produced short-form documentary videos for the Smithsonian Museum.

Chief Creative Officer / Senior Producer

Martha Adams is an award-winning storyteller and photographer who travels freely between the commercial realm of TV, the independent world of filmmaking and all things digital media. Originally brought on to produce the film at the center of the Girl Rising campaign, she is now the Chief Creative Officer and was featured in 2013 by Newsweek/Daily Beast as one of “125 Women of Impact.”

Samantha Wright

Vice President of Global Programs

Samantha is passionate about the power of storytelling to create global change. As Vice President of Global Programs, Samantha sets the vision for how to best use Girl Rising storytelling to enable community-led change around the world. She also launched and runs the Girl Rising Innovation Lab – an initiative that develops pilots that test how film can be optimally harnessed for good. Pilots that work are scaled up into the global campaign that has reached over 150 countries worldwide.

Kayce Freed Jennings

Senior Producer 

Kayce Freed Jennings has extensive experience in both television news and documentaries. Before co-founding DocGroup – and helping to start its predecessor, PJ Productions – she spent 20 years at ABC News, covering international and national news and producing for virtually every broadcast in the network news division. She was on the staffs of Nightline, World News Tonight, Day One and 20/20, and based in London, Atlanta and New York.

Cate Browning

Production Assistant

Cate Browning grew up in Kailua, a tiny beach town located on the beautiful island of Oahu. Like many who grew up in Hawai’i, Cate rode dolphins, surfed to school, and loves SPAM. She moved to the “mainland” to pursue a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at Chapman University. After graduating, Cate was honored to join the Girl Rising team.

After graduating from Santa Clara University with a BA in French and minors in Film, Women’s and Gender Studies, and International Studies, Annie spent a year in Cannes teaching English at a French high school with a renowned film program. During her time at SCU and following her graduation, Annie discovered her love of film and storytelling.

Prior to joining the Girl Rising team, Laura worked in the political and nonprofit sectors, most recently as an Assistant Finance Director for a New York City Council campaign. She is a recent graduate of NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where she specialized in International Development.
