An official observance of the United Nations, IDG was declared to promote awareness of and action on girls’ rights. IDG 2013 is devoted to “Innovating for Girls’ Education,” a theme Girl Rising embodies and embraces.

The documentary explores one of the most iconic cases in U.S. Supreme Court history – the result of one woman’s fight to ensure that the rights of all are protected.
